Dear U3A family:
Here we are in a New Year with a new home for our Monthly Meetings. We have moved two doors to the left away from Seapoint Place along Helen Suzman Boulevard. Some sporty types could even walk along the uneven side walk from Sea Point Place to our new main entrance. It is easily recognizable from Suzman drive because emblazoned on the building wall is WARWICK HEALTH so you can’t miss it. Or another alternative is to drive via Main Road, both ways offering adequate parking. On the large sandy pavement there is adequate parking.
Following on from a vibrant conclusion to 2025, during the two month break Julie arranged for thirty U3A mambers to come to the KIBBLE & LIPSCHITZ Art Exhibition at the Jewish Museum, where we were transfixed by the brilliant presentation by the young archivist of the stories of these remarkable turn of the century artists.
Your- hard- working and smaller-than-we-would-like-it committee have great things in store for you. Not least, several new groups including Bridge and Theatre Club.
On a slightly somber note we are raisng our annual fees from R50 to R70 to accommodate higher costs and a new overhead projector. Entry fees including refreshments made by ourselves remain at R20 for members, R30 for guests.
The first speaker of the month is Rosalind Spears on 12 February. Rosalind will introduce us to Mahatma Gandi’s wife Kasturba.
